Atomic Kitten surgit en 1999, alors que la décomposition des Spice Girls est déjà entamée. Le projet est formé par Andy McCluskey, ex chanteur de Orchestral Manoeuvres in the Dark, le seul propos est de mettre sur pied un trio féminin capable d'aligner des tubes. Après des débuts timides, le but est amplement atteint avec Right Now en 2000 (No 1 anglais) et sa noria de tubes, Feels So Good en 2002 fait aussi bien, Ladies Night en 2003 voit leur popularité baisser (No 5 en Angleterre).
