Josh Moshier, born on May 17, 1986, is an American musician and pianist. He earned a Bachelor of Arts from Northwestern University, where he studied jazz piano under Joan Hickey, jazz arrangement with Tom Garling, and orchestration with Aaron Travers. Moshier's early career included writing arrangements for Hal Leonard (All About Trumpet) and composing music for Harpo Sounds (The Oprah Winfrey Show). In 2009, he released his debut album Joy Not Jaded with his Chicago quartet, co-led by saxophonist Mike Lebrun. Moshier's notable works include the suite Studs Terkel Project, inspired by the writer's works and premiered in May 2011 in Chicago. He has been a member of the Chicago Jazz Composers Collective.
