Benone Sinulescu, born May 24, 1937, in Siriu, Buzău County, Romania, was a Romanian singer who began his musical journey as a child, singing in the church choir and later becoming a soloist at the school in Pleșcoi. His breakthrough came in the 1960s when he started releasing vinyl records under Electrecord. Notable albums include Benone Sinulescu (1967), Pe Drumul Căruțelor (1970) with Irina Loghin, Rămâi, Mândruțo, Cu Bine (1974), Cîntece Populare Și De Voie Bună (1981), Bennymania (2003), and Tinerețe Trecătoare (2011). Throughout his career, Sinulescu worked with prominent figures in Romanian folk music, including Maria Lătărețu, Ioana Radu, and Lucreția Ciobanu. He integrated elements of ethno-dance into his music after 1989, collaborating with the band Ro-Mania. Sinulescu received several awards, including the Culture Order of the Socialist Republic of Romania (IV Class) in 1967, the National Faithful Service Cross (III Class) in 2002, and the Cultural Order in the rank of Grand Officer in Category D in 2004. He passed away on November 18, 2021, in Arad, Romania.
