Jens Massel, born in 1969 in Cologne, Germany, is a German electronic musician known for his work under the pseudonym Senking. Massel began his musical journey in the early 1990s as a bassist in various punk and indie bands before transitioning to electronic music by 1995.
Massel's debut album as Senking, titled Senking, was released in 1998 on Karaoke Kalk. He continued to release notable works such as "Untitled / 20' To 2000.June" (1999) and Ping Thaw"(2000). Throughout the 2000s, Massel released several albums on Raster-Noton, including Tap (2003), List (2007), and Pong (2010). His later works include Capsize Recovery (2013) and Closing Ice (2015).
