Erika Morini Siracusano, also known as Erica Morini, born on January 5, 1904, in Vienna, Austria, was a violinist who received her initial instruction from her father, Oscar Morini. She completed her studies at the Vienna Conservatory under Otakar Ševčík and made her debut in 1916 with the Leipzig Gewandhaus Orchestra and the Berlin Philharmonic under Arthur Nikisch. Her American debut at age seventeen in New York City on January 26, 1921, was highly acclaimed. She began recording for the Victor Talking Machine Company in March 1921. Morini resided in Austria until 1938, when she relocated to New York and changed her name to Erica. In 1976, after a hiatus, she returned to the stage for a final recital at Hunter College. Morini passed away on November 1, 1995.
