Bëlga is a Hungarian pop rock, rap rock, and hip-hop group formed in Budapest in 1998. The group originated from the collaboration of founding members Bauxit, Még5lövés, and Tokyo, who were all students at the Tan Kapuja Buddhist College. At the end of the 1990s, they met DJ Titusz and Sickratman during a broadcast on Tilos Radio. Their breakthrough occurred in 2001 with a performance at the Sziget Festival and an appearance as a finalist in the Pepsi Sztárcsináló talent contest with the song “Ovi”. The group released its debut album, Majd megszokod, in 2002, which featured the song “Nemzeti hip-hop”. Its second album, Jön a Gólem!, was released in 2004, achieved gold status, and reached Number 1 on the Hungarian charts. In October 2005, the group released its third double album, consisting of Bokorpuszta and Zsolti a béka. In 2007, the group issued the album Zigilemez. The year 2010 was a prolific period for the group, which released four albums on its website for free download: the political-themed Arany on March 5, 2010, the educational album Platina on April 1, 2010, the traditional Gyémánt on May 5, 2010, and Farost on June 4, 2010. Subsequent albums include Stég FM 84 (2012), Sanyi (2013), and Disco! (2015). The group adopted numbered outfits for its stage performances in 2023, with Still5, Tokyo, and Bauxit wearing the numbers 1, 2, and 3, respectively. Other notable releases include Csumpa (2017), Karnevál (2021), and Fém of Bëlga (2023).
