The Levitation Hex, an Australian progressive metal band from Canberra, was formed in 2010 by guitarist and singer Adam Agius and bassist and singer Mark Palfreyman. The group began recording their debut album in 2011, with the lineup completed by guitarist Scott Young and drummer Ben Hocking. The Levitation Hex, released in 2012, marked their first full-length album. Following performances in Australia, they embarked on a European tour in October 2012, including an appearance at ProgPower Europe. This was followed by a record deal with High Roller Records. Their second album, Cohesion, was released in 2016. The band's music is influenced by space rock, psychedelic rock, and progressive rock of the 1970s, as well as old-school thrash and death metal.
