Human Fortress is a German power metal band from Hanover, Germany, formed in 1997 as Timezone by Pablo J. Tammen, Torsten Wolf, Volker Trost, and Thomas Albrecht. Their lineup transitioned to power metal after recruiting singer Jioti Parcharidis in 1998 and renaming to Human Fortress. Their debut album Lord of Earth and Heavens Heir (2001) was produced with Tommy Newton, and Human Fortress signed with LMP Records following a competition win for the song "The Dragons Lair". In 2003, they released the album Defenders of the Crown (2003), marking a shift to Massacre Records. Human Fortress released notable albums such as Eternal Empire (2008), Raided Land (2013), Thieves of the Night (2016), and Reign of Gold (2019). Their lineup released the compilation Epic Tales & Untold Stories (2021) to mark an anniversary, returning to Massacre Records. Other notable releases include the album Stronghold (2025).
