Aurelio Fierro, born on September 13, 1923, in Montella, Italy, was an Italian singer and actor specializing in Neapolitan and Italian song. He began his career in 1951 after winning a new voices contest, which led to a contract with the Durium label. In 1953, he won the first Festival of Castellammare di Stabia with the song “Rose, poveri rrose!” prompting him to leave engineering for music. His first hit was “Scapricciatiello”, and he went on to win the Festival di Napoli four times, notably in 1956 with the song “Guaglione” performed as a duet with Grazia Gresi. He also appeared at the Sanremo Music Festival six times between 1958 and 1964, and presented the song “'A pizza” with Giorgio Gaber at the Festival di Napoli in 1966. His album releases include Melodie del Golfo - Prima raccolta (1955), Canzoni napoletane celebri (1959), and 10 anni di successo (1963). He died on March 11, 2005, in Naples, Italy.
