Liliana Herrero is an Argentine musician. Born in Villaguay, Entre Ríos, in 1948, Herrero relocated to Rosario, Santa Fe, in 1966 to study philosophy and became an adoptive citizen of the city. During her youth, she participated in the vocal groups Contracanto and Canto Libre, and was arrested by the military government due to her involvement in Peronist movements. In 1993, Herrero released her third studio album, Isla del Tesoro, which featured guest artists Fito Páez, Ricardo Mollo, Claudia Puyó, and Beto Satragni. She was honored with a Konex Award in 1995 as one of the five best interpreters of the decade. That same year, she served as the Argentine representative at the Non-Governmental Organizations Forum of the International Women's Conference in Beijing, China, where her performance was broadcast on national radio.
