Five Deez, an American hip hop group from Cincinnati, Ohio, was formed in 1993 by members Fat Jon the Ample Soul Physician (John Marshall), Pase Rock (Patrick Johnson), Kyle David, and Sonic (Corey Brown). They met while attending Walnut Hills High School. Their first release was Secret Agent Number 005 The E.P. in September 2000, followed by their debut full-length album Koolmotor in 2001 on Counterflow Recordings. Five Deez gained recognition for blending hip-hop with electronic, jazz, house, and techno music, often incorporating live instrumentation. Notable albums included Kinkynasti (2003) and Kommunikator (2006). The group collaborated with artists such as Rakim, BlackStar, Mr. Dibbs, Hieroglyphics, J-Live, and members of the Japanese hip hop scene, including Nujabes and Shing02.
