Ars Nova was an American progressive rock band formed in 1967. The initial lineup included Wyatt Day, Jon Pierson, Maury Baker, Giovanni Papalia, Bill Folwell, and Jonathan Raskin. They signed with Elektra Records and released their debut album Ars Nova in 1968, produced by Paul Rothchild. The band gained significant attention after performing at the Fillmore East supporting The Doors but disbanded shortly after. Following lineup changes, a new version of the band recorded their second album Sunshine & Shadows, released on Atlantic Records in 1969.
