Grabak, a German black metal band from Leipzig, was formed in 1995 following the death of Mike P., the singer of FFF. The remaining members of FFF—Dirk Lakowitz, André, and D. Glaser—recruited Jan Klepel from Hecatomb as their new vocalist. In early 1996, they renamed themselves Grabak to signify a fresh start. The band's lineup evolved with the additions of Gabor Antok on bass and Kristin Müller on keyboards, while A. Feder replaced D. Glaser. In 1998, they signed with CCP Records and released their debut album, The Prophet of Chaos, followed by Encyclopaedia Infernalis in 2001 and The Serpent within Paradise in 2003. Subsequent albums include Agash Daeva (2007), featuring guest vocals from Nornagest of Enthroned and Tobias G. of Mortjuri, and Bloodline Divine (2017).
