Eternal Oath, a Swedish symphonic/melodic death metal band, was formed in 1991 in Stockholm by Ted Jonsson, Petri Tarvainen, and Joni Mäensivu. In February 1994, they recorded a promotional tape that secured a deal for their first EP, So Silent, self-released in 1996 due to label issues. Their debut album, Through The Eyes Of Hatred, was released in 1999 under Pulverised Records. In 2002, Eternal Oath released their second album, Righteous. Following the bankruptcy of Pulverised Records, they signed with Sound Pollution/Black Lodge Records and released their third album, Wither, in 2005. The band disbanded in January 2007 but reunited in 2011, releasing a new album, Ghostlands, in 2013.
