You Bred Raptors? is an American instrumental post-rock trio formed in 2010 by Peter Rains, originally consisting of bass and drums. Based in Astoria, New York, the band initially performed under the streets of New York City as part of Music Under New York. Their debut EP Lex & Tim was released in 2010. The group added cellist Tara Hanish in 2011, expanding their sound and leading to the release of their first full-length album Muldoon (2011). Subsequent albums include Hammond (2012), Grant (2014), and International Genetics (2017). The band is known for their instrumental post-rock style, often compared to film scores, and their distinctive use of masks during performances. You Bred Raptors? has been featured in publications such as New York Magazine, The Economist, and The Atlantic.
