Omar Akbar, known professionally as Labtekwon, is an American rapper from Baltimore, Maryland. He began his music career with the release of The Ghetto Gospel EP in 1993 and continued to build a reputation through a series of albums under the Labteknology series from 1994 to 2000. In 1995, he won the Zulu Nation Freestyle Competition and performed at notable venues such as the Lyricist Lounge in New York. Labtekwon was also recognized by Baltimore City Paper, winning Best MC multiple times between 1998 and 2003. His discography includes albums like Nile Child (1998), Da Helpless Won (1999), and Song of the Sovereign (2002). Labtekwon collaborated with prominent artists such as Afrika Bambaataa, Rakim, and KRS-One.
