Dead Moon, an American punk band formed in 1987 in Portland, Oregon, consisted of Fred Cole on vocals and guitar, Kathleen "Toody" Cole on vocals and bass, and Andrew Loomis on drums. The group's early releases, such as In the Graveyard (1988), were issued through Tombstone Records. Their breakthrough came with successful European tours in the late 1980s and early 1990s, leading to releases like Unknown Passage (1989) and Defiance (1990). Notable songs include "Don't Burn the Fires" and "Black September". The band dissolved in 2006 after a final tour but reformed briefly from 2014 to 2017 before disbanding permanently following the deaths of Loomis and Fred Cole.
