Joelho de Porco, a Brazilian comedy rock band formed in 1972 in São Paulo, was known for their musical eclecticism. In 1973, they released the single "Se Você Vai de Xaxado, Eu Vou de Rock And Roll/Fly America," produced by ex-Mutantes member Arnaldo Baptista. Their first album, São Paulo - 1554 / Hoje, was recorded in 1976. In 1983, the band reformed with Tico Terpins and released the double album Saqueando a Cidade. In 1985, they participated in TV Globo's Festival dos Festivais with "A Última Voz do Brasil," winning first prize in the lyrics category. The group remained semi-active until 1998 when Terpins died following a heart attack.
