U Sung-eun, born Yoo Sung-eun in Seoul, South Korea, on April 26, 1989, is a South Korean singer. She first gained national recognition in 2012 as the runner-up on the first season of The Voice of Korea. That same year, she released her debut collaboration single, “Love Virus”, alongside BtoB, which reached number 74 on the Gaon Digital Chart. She released her debut EP, Be OK, on July 15, 2013, which reached number 55 on the Gaon Album Chart. Its title track, “Be OK” featuring Baechigi, reached number 4 on the Gaon Digital Chart, followed by her single “Healing”, which reached number 19. U Sung-eun released her 2nd Mini Album on October 12, 2015, which reached number 54 on the Gaon Album Chart and included the single “Nothing” featuring Moonbyul, reaching number 16. Her standalone singles include “Have To Hurt Once Anyway”, which reached number 22 in 2015, “Marihuana”, which reached number 73 in 2015, and “Jealousy” featuring Kisum, which reached number 34 in 2016. She has contributed to television soundtracks, including “Twilight” for The Suspicious Housekeeper in 2013, “Trap” featuring Swings for My Secret Hotel in 2014, and “Jasmine Flower” for Persevere, Goo Hae-ra in 2015, in which she also acted.
