Adam Rafferty, born January 26, 1969, in Harlem, New York, is an American guitarist and composer. He began studying guitar at six years old and later received formal training in classical guitar. In the late 1980s, he collaborated with childhood friend John-Christian Urich as the duo Raf and Cooly C. In 1989, inspired by Mike Longo's performance at Birdland, he transitioned to jazz, performing with artists like Lou Donaldson and Buster Williams. He recorded his debut album First Impressions in 1993. In 2007, inspired by Tommy Emmanuel's fingerstyle guitar, he shifted his focus to acoustic guitar, releasing his debut solo acoustic album Gratitude in 2008. His cover versions of Michael Jackson's "Billie Jean" and Stevie Wonder's "Superstition" received over a million views on YouTube.
