Uta Köbernick, born January 19, 1976, in East Berlin, is a German singer-songwriter, cabaret artist, and actress. She began violin lessons at six and joined the Berlin Radio Children’s Choir at eight, performing in concerts, radio and recording productions, and international tours. At 15, she began writing her own songs and later studied singing at the Franz Liszt University of Music in Weimar. Her musical development was influenced by singer-songwriter Christof Stählin and his SAGO school for poetry and music. From 2006, she toured with Sonnenscheinwelt, followed by Uta Köbernick singt Rabenlieder in 2012. She has won several awards, including the Sponsorship Award from the German Songwriters' List and the German Record Critics' Award for Auch Nicht Schlimmer, both in 2011.
