Etyen is a Lebanese composer, producer, and founder of Thawra Records, known for his genre-defying electronic music that spans ambient, electronica, experimental pop, indie and emotionally charged cinematic work. A central force in Beirut’s underground scene, Etyen’s sound resists classification, drawing as much from global electronic currents as from the layered complexity of his surroundings. His music reflects the resilience and creative urgency of Beirut itself, while maintaining a distinctive voice that is deeply personal, expansive, and ever-evolving.
From scoring for Netflix to performing at festivals like Sonar Barcelona and MUTEK, Etyen has built a career on emotional honesty and sonic experimentation. Etyen’s acclaimed solo works and collaborations have earned critical praise from the likes of Bandcamp Daily, BBC Radio 6, Vogue, FBi Radio and much more since his debut more than a decade ago. Through Thawra Records, he continues to champion emerging talent across the region, cultivating a boundary-pushing, community-driven creative space. Balancing accessibility and sonic depth, Etyen’s work has become a hallmark of forward-thinking music from the Middle East, while resonating far beyond.
