Telmary Díaz Fernández, known as Telmary, and born on March 10, 1977, in Havana, Cuba, is a rapper and musician. She initially aspired to follow her journalist mother into journalism but shifted her focus after discovering spoken word freestyle events. Telmary's music career began with collaborations that honed her unique style, blending Afro-Cuban beats with jazz, funk, hip-hop, and urban slam poetry. Her debut solo album A Diario was released in 2006 and won the Cubadisco Award for Best Hip Hop Album. In 2013, she released Unspoken, Vol.1, followed by Libre in 2014, which also won a Cubadisco Award for Best Hip-Hop Album. Telmary's album Fuerza Arará (2018) was nominated for the 19th Latin Grammys' Best Alternative Music Album in 2018.
