Squallor, an Italian rock band formed in 1971, was known for its explicit and often grotesque lyrics. The group consisted of Daniele Pace, Totò Savio, Giancarlo Bigazzi, Alfredo Cerruti, and Elio Gariboldi, with occasional contributions from external members like Gianni Boncompagni and Gigi Sabani. Inspired by the film Bedazzled, they adopted a unique style featuring recited texts over music. Despite minimal promotion or live performances, Squallor gained significant popularity through radio airplay and public spots, although some songs were censored. Their breakthrough came with the 1985 album Tocca l'albicocca, which included the single "USA for Italy"—a parody of We Are the World that received widespread airing. The band's final official release, Cambiamento, was published in 1994 and featured a notable cover of "Albachiara" by Vasco Rossi, titled "Albachiava."
