The Honorary Title was an American alternative indie rock band from Brooklyn, New York. Formed in 2003 by Jarrod Gorbel and Aaron Kamstra, they initially played with an indie record label before signing to Doghouse Records. Their debut release was the self-titled EP in 2003. The band's first full-length album, Anything Else But the Truth, was released in 2004 and later reissued with additional tracks. In 2007, they released their second studio album, Scream & Light Up the Sky. After heavy touring, they announced their disbandment in October 2009, playing their final show on November 20, 2009. Their music was featured in various media, including the television series One Tree Hill. In 2018, they reunited to celebrate the 15th anniversary of their debut EP, performing Anything Else but the Truth in its entirety at a series of reunion shows in Los Angeles, Chicago, Brooklyn, and San Francisco.
