Doughboys were a Canadian alternative rock band formed in Montreal in 1987 by John Kastner. Their debut album Whatever was released that same year on Pipeline Records. The band's lineup frequently changed; original guitarist Scott McCullough was replaced by Jonathan Cummins, Jon Asencio played bass, and Brock Pytel was the drummer. In 1989, they released their second album Home Again. In 1993, Doughboys signed with A&M Records and released Crush, featuring the single "Shine", which won a CASBY for Best Single in 1994. Their final album, Turn Me On, was released in 1996. Following a tour with the Offspring, Doughboys disbanded in 1997. They reunited briefly in 2011 as a support for the Canadian leg of Foo Fighters' tour.
