Hooton 3 Car was an English rock band formed in 1989, consisting of Graham Williams (guitar, vocals), Chris Petty (guitar, vocals), Hywell Maggs (bass, vocals), and Jon Jesson (drums, vocals). Their original drummer, Stephen Emm, left the band in 1992. The group's name was inspired by train indicators on Merseyrail Wirral Line stations. Between 1992 and 1995, Hooton 3 Car recorded three sessions at Maida Vale Studios for John Peel’s BBC Radio 1 show, which were later compiled into a discography released by Crackle! Records in 2003. The band released their album, Cramp Like a Fox, in 1996 and Monkey Mayor in 1997. Notable singles include "Danny" and "Numena". Hooton 3 Car disbanded in 1998.
