Brainclaw, an electronic music project founded by David Giuffre in 1989 at Ithaca College in New York, began as an experiment in composing aggressive electronic music. The group's early work included Infrastucture (1989), Painselectiv (1991), Shrieking in Standy (1993), and several subsequent releases that refined both recording technique and compositional structure. In 2004, Brainclaw released their official debut album InsektAngel, which featured notable songs "When the Dark Rains Come" and "Insekt/Angel". These tracks were later used in the DVD releases of The Matrix Revolutions and Spider-Man Collector's Edition. The band signed with BLC Productions in 2006 and released Dead Monsters. Brainclaw also collaborated with various artists, including Carfax Abbey and Kenji Siratori.
