Vito Ricci, born in 1947 in Canada and adopted by Italian-American parents, is an American composer and electronic musician. He began his career as a percussionist, studying with Ornette Coleman and performing with avant-garde jazz musicians such as Rashied Ali and Byard Lancaster. In 1985, Ricci self-released the album Music from Memory, which later inspired the Dutch reissue label of the same name. Selections from this album, along with unreleased material, were reissued in 2015 on the compilation I Was Crossing a Bridge. Over his career, Ricci has composed extensively across multiple genres, including works for voice, piano, string quartets, and electronics. In 2016, he released his album A Symphony For Amiga.
