Calvin James Howard, known professionally as Viro the Virus, born October 4, 1978, was an American rapper. He began his career with the release of Future Trauma (2002) under NODRECORDS. His subsequent releases included collaborations such as Arz Nova: The Longest EP Ever (2003) with Caliph-NOW and 420 (2004) with Slim DSM and Caliph-NOW. Viro the Virus gained significant underground recognition, particularly with the release of the song "Starlight" from Snowgoons' album Black Snow. His notable solo albums included OutBreak (2005), Jersey's Finest (2006), and The Sharpest Blade (2008). He also contributed to the entrance theme for professional wrestler Chris Hero. Before his death on April 14, 2012, he released Bud, Sex and Beers, Vol. 1 EP (2009) and the remix EP Virohazard (2011). Posthumously, his work was celebrated through various remixes and tributes, including the track "Rear Naked Choke" on the Snowgoons' album Snowgoons Dynasty (2013) and the release of Arz Nova: The Longest EP Ever Remixed (2014).
