Thomas Sauerborn (born August 28, 1987) was a German jazz drummer and composer from Nürtingen. Sauerborn began piano lessons at age six and transitioned to drums at nine, performing in local pop, rock, and jazz bands from age thirteen. He studied at the Conservatorium van Amsterdam (2008–2010) and completed a bachelor's degree at the Musikhochschule Köln in 2013. Between 2014 and 2016, Sauerborn was a DAAD scholar at the Rytmisk Musikkonservatorium in Copenhagen. He was a member of the LandesJugendJazzOrchester Hessen (2007–2010) and the Bundesjazzorchester (2010–2011). Sauerborn collaborated with musicians including Claudio Roditi, Joe Gallardo, Jiggs Whigham, and Herb Geller. He led or co-led the ensembles pollon, Makkro, and Mount Meander. His discography included the recordings Corazon Latino Especial, räume (2013), Losing Color (2021), and Kyiwi (2022). Sauerborn performed at festivals such as the Moers Festival and Jazz Baltica.
