Swada is the stage name of Wiktor Szczygieł, a Polish record producer who creates music using samplers, synthesizers, and sequencers. Stylized as Sw@da, his musical style blends electronic and traditional folk elements, which he describes as Podlachian bounce. In 2019, Szczygieł launched a collaborative music project with rappers Maciej "MC Dzidek" Dzitkowski and Nika "Niczos" Jurczuk, alongside vocalist Wioletta Bociuk. That same year, he received a distinction at the 22nd Polish Radio Folk Music Festival Nowa Tradycja. In 2021, he collaborated with Karolina Cicha to compose music for an exhibition prepared by the Xylopolis Center. The duo followed with the collaborative studio album Sad in 2022, which earned a Fryderyk award nomination for roots music album of the year. On November 29, 2024, Szczygieł released the studio album #InDaWoods with Jurczuk. The album was promoted by the single “Lusterka”, which competed in the Polish national final for the Eurovision Song Contest 2025, placing second on February 14, 2025. On February 11, 2025, the Belarusian Ministry of Information labeled his Instagram account as extremist and disabled access to it within the country.
