Setherial is a Swedish black metal band from Sundsvall formed in 1993 by Kheeroth, Zathanel, Devothan, and Mysteriis. The group's early years saw the release of their debut demo A Hail to the Faceless Angels in 1994, followed by the EP För dem mitt blod (1995). Their first full-length album, Nord..., was released in March 1996 and is considered a significant contribution to Swedish black metal. The album featured long tracks inspired by Dissection and Emperor. In 1998, Setherial released Lords of the Nightrealm, marking a shift towards shorter, faster songs with simpler structures. Notable releases include Hell Eternal (1999), Endtime Divine (2003), and the compilation From the Ancient Ruins (2003), which garnered attention from music critics. The band issued further albums like Death Triumphant (2006) and Ekpyrosis (2010). Their final known releases were the EPs Treason (2011) and Firestorms (2013).
