Obtained Enslavement was a Norwegian symphonic black metal band formed in 1989 in Stord. The group initially consisted of Pest, Døden, and Torquemada, who began by playing death metal before transitioning to symphonic black metal. Their early releases included two demos, Obtained Enslavement (1992) and Out of the Crypts (1993). The band's first album, Centuries of Sorrow, was released in 1994 under Likstøy Music Inc., followed by Witchcraft in 1997 on Wounded Love Records. Their third album, Soulblight, came out in 1998. They released the album The Shepherd and the Hounds of Hell, was released in 2000 under Napalm Records before they disbanded later that year.
