Wiz Chain (real name Daniel Omar Alamin) is a Sudanese rapper, songwriter, and founder of Nubian Vibe Record, known for his powerful storytelling, genre-blending sound, and fierce commitment to justice. Born in Khartoum North, Sudan, Daniel grew up surrounded by the rhythms of Sudanese culture, the wisdom of his grandmother, and the dreams of a better life for his people. His journey has been shaped by love, loss, war, and resilience—elements that fuel every lyric he writes.
At the age of 15, Daniel lost both arms in a brutal attack during the war in Sudan while tending his uncle’s cows. One arm was lost completely, and the other below the elbow. The tragedy changed his life forever—but it did not break him. Instead, it lit a fire inside him. Wiz Chain rose from the pain to become a symbol of strength and determination. With no arms, he taught himself to write again using his elbow and began turning his lived experience into music that speaks truth to power.
His music blends traditional Sudanese melodies with hip-hop, Afrobeat, and soul, creating a unique sound rooted in both cultural pride and modern energy. His lyrics are raw, heartfelt, and unapologetically honest—speaking about war, peace, struggle, identity, and the desire for a better life. He uses music not only to express himself but also to amplify the voice of his people.
After moving to Nairobi, Kenya, Wiz Chain recorded his first song “Babe” in 2016. He has since released several tracks including “Mama Am Sorry,” a tribute to the mother he was separated from for over 15 years; “Sudan Hear Me Now,” a call for peace in his homeland; “Warrior,” and “Pewa Mimba.” His EP NLF (Never Lose Faith) reflects his journey of transformation and hope.
Wiz Chain is also the founder of Nubian Vibe Record, a music label created to uplift young Sudanese and African artists who use music for storytelling, healing, and revolution. Through his label, he’s building a platform that preserves Sudanese identity while pushing African music forward.
