The Outlets is an American band co‑founded in the early 1980s by musician and producer Rick Barton and his brother David Alex Barton. The group, which became an acclaimed live band in the Boston area, released the single "Best Friends" in 1982 and the album Whole New World in 1985 under Restless/Enigma, with the track "Knock Me Down" achieving regional success. Other notable albums include I Remember (1999), The Outlets (2000), and The Outlets Rock 1980 (2007). Rick Barton later left and formed the Dropkick Murphys, while the Outlets reformed without him.
