Bow Thayer is an American songwriter, guitarist, and banjoist whose musical career began with the formation of the band Seven League Boots in 1990. The group released the album 12 Songs and toured alongside acts such as Fugazi and The Mighty Mighty Bosstones. In the mid-1990s, the musician formed the bands Elbow and Jethro, and later joined the bluegrass outfit The Benders, contributing to their self-titled debut album in 2001 and subsequent releases on Pig Pile Records. Thayer's solo project, Bow Thayer and Perfect Trainwreck, released its self-titled debut album on March 1, 2008, followed by Bottom of the Sky (2010), Eden on March 5, 2013, and the live album Eden: Live at the Chandler on April 22, 2014. The songwriter's other recordings include The Driftwood Periodicals Vol I (2004) and the traditional folk collection The Source and the Servant (2016), as well as the 2006 collaboration Spend It All featuring Levon Helm. In 2014, the musician released Sundowser, featuring compositions written for the Bojotar, a customized instrument combining an acoustic guitar, resonator guitar, and banjo that went into production by Eastwood Guitars. The artist also co-founded the Tweed River Music Festival, which was held in Vermont.
