The Sugarplastic is an alternative rock band from Los Angeles, California. The band includes guitarist Ben Eshbach, bassist Kiara Geller, and drummer David Cunningham. Formed in 1989, the group began as an instrumental trio with drummer Josh Laner. After a year of jamming, Eshbach took on lead vocals, and the band recorded a demo in 1991. This led to their debut EP, Ottawa Bonesaw (1993), on Pronto Records. They signed with Geffen Records while recording their debut studio album, Radio Jejune (1995), which was released on Sugarfix Records. Their major-label debut, Bang, the Earth is Round (1996), followed under Geffen. Following Laner's departure, Cunningham joined as a full-time member, and the band released their third studio album, Resin (2000). The group recorded the song “Don't Look Down” (2001) for the television series The Powerpuff Girls. They later released the compilation album 7x7x7 (2003) and their studio album Will (2005), which was dedicated to their late engineer William Glenn.
