Spastic Ink was an American progressive metal band formed in 1993 by guitarist Ron Jarzombek. Joined by brother Bobby Jarzombek on drums and bass player Pete Perez, they recorded a demo album consisting of 11 songs. Despite initial setbacks due to their experimental style being deemed "not commercially viable," Spastic Ink secured a licensing agreement with Dream Circle Records for the release of Ink Complete in 1997. The album received a positive reception, but financial losses followed when Dream Circle went bankrupt shortly after. Ron Jarzombek reissued Ink Complete on his own EclecticElectric label in 2000, adding bonus material. Eventually, Spastic Ink released Ink Compatible in 2004 via Jarzombek's EclecticElectric label and Avalon/Marquee in Japan, featuring contributions from notable musicians such as Marty Friedman and Daniel Gildenlöw.
