Kristína Peláková, known mononymously as Kristína, was born on August 20, 1987, in Svidník, Czechoslovakia. Kristína is a singer who began a music career after meeting producer Martin Kavulič. The debut single, "Som tvoja" (2007), featured the rapper Opak. Kristína reached prominence with the album ...ešte váham (2008), which earned a gold certification. In 2010, Kristína represented Slovakia at the Eurovision Song Contest with the song "Horehronie" (2010). The second album, V sieti ťa mám (2010), reached Number 1 on the Slovak charts and received a platinum certification. Discography releases include Na slnečnej strane sveta (2012) and Mať srdce (2017). Kristína was named Singer of the Year by Óčko TV in 2011.
