The Perceptionists is an American alternative hip-hop and political rap group from Boston, Massachusetts. The group's lineup includes rappers Mr. Lif and Akrobatik, alongside original member DJ Fakts One. The members first collaborated in the late 1990s on the university radio show hosted by Fakts One, officially forming as a trio in 2000. They released their debut mixtape, The Razor, in 2004, followed by their debut studio album, Black Dialogue, in 2005 on the Definitive Jux label. This debut featured the single “Memorial Day”. After separating due to personal differences, the members returned to perform together in 2016 on Mr. Lif’s solo album, Don't Look Down. Subsequently, Mr. Lif and Akrobatik resumed activity as a duo, releasing the studio album Resolution in 2017 through the Mello Music Group label. Their other single releases include “Blo / Let's Move” (2005).
