Hush was an Australian glam rock and pop band formed in Seven Hills, New South Wales, in 1971. The group was founded as a five-piece light pop ensemble by lead vocalist Keith Lamb, guitarist Robin Jackson, drummer John Koutts, bassist Rick Lum, and keyboardist Chris Nolan. After releasing their debut single, “Over You” (1971), the lineup reorganized as a quartet with guitarist Les Gock and drummer Chris Pailthorpe. The group released their debut studio album, Aloud 'n' Live, in December 1973, which reached number 40 on the Kent Music Report chart. This was followed by Get Rocked! (1974), which peaked at number 9, and C'mon We're Taking Over (1974), which reached number 26. Their commercial success was led by top 10 cover versions of “Bony Moronie” (1975), which reached number 4, and “Glad All Over” (1975), which reached number 8. Their fourth studio album, Rough Tough 'n' Ready, was released in November 1975 and peaked at number 15. In August 1976, the group added second guitarist Jacques de Jongh. Lum departed shortly after, and De Jongh moved to bass guitar before passing away on February 23, 2025. The group issued the compilation Nothing Stays the Same Forever (The Best of Hush Volume One) (1976) and their final studio album, Touché (1977), before disbanding in late 1977. A compilation album, The Best of Hush, was released in 1996.
