Q5, an American hard rock band from Seattle, Washington, was formed in 1983. The group initially consisted of frontman Jonathan Scott K., guitarists Floyd D. Rose and Rick Pierce, bassist Evan Sheeley, and drummer Gary Thompson. Their debut album, Steel the Light, released in 1984, garnered critical acclaim and led to tours with notable acts like Lita Ford and Twisted Sister. In 1986, Q5 signed with PolyGram for their sophomore release, When the Mirror Cracks. However, internal divisions led to the band's disbandment shortly after. The group later reformed under the name Nightshade, releasing several albums including Dead of Night in 1991 and Men of Iron in 2001. Q5 reunited in 2014 for a performance at the Sweden Rock Festival, which sparked a renewed interest in the band, leading to the release of their third album as Q5, New World Order, in 2016.
