Michel Eugene Henri Alexandre Huygen, known as Michel Huygen, born in 1954 in Kisangani, Democratic Republic of the Congo, is a Belgian and Spanish electronic musician and composer. Huygen began his career in the 1970s as a member of various psychedelic rock bands. In 1976, he founded Neuronium with Carlos Guirao, Albert Giménez, and other musicians. The band's first album, Quasar 2C361 (1977), was the first cosmic electronic music album published in Spain. Huygen coined the term "psicotrónica" to describe his music, which aimed for a balance between body and mind. He released albums under both his own name and Neuronium, with notable works including Barcelona 1992 (1986), Intimo (1990), En busca del misterio (1992), and Astralia (1995). Huygen's later releases included collaborations such as Neo (2020) with the London Symphony Orchestra.
