My Cat Is an Alien, an Italian musical duo composed of brothers Maurizio Opalio and Roberto Opalio, formed in Turin, Italy. Their first self‑released Landscapes Of An Electric City (1999) introduced their improvisational style, followed by the Hypnotic Spaces EP (1998). In 2001 the duo released Landscapes Of An Electric City / Hypnotic Spaces on Ecstatic Peace!, gaining attention from the avant‑garde community. Subsequent albums, such as The Rest Is Silence (2003) and When The Windmill's Whirl Dies (2004), were issued on Eclipse Records. They collaborated with artists including Thurston Moore, Jim O'Rourke, and Nels Cline. The duo’s work was featured in The Wire and released through labels such as Atavistic, Important Records, and Elliptical Noise.
