Colette Deréal, born Colette Denise de Glarélial on September 22, 1927, in Saint-Cyr-l'École, France, was a French actress and singer. At age fifteen, she was introduced to composer Reynaldo Hahn and showed promise as a soprano colorature. In 1959, her breakthrough came with the release of the song “Ne joue pas”, which sold 100,000 copies in a month following its debut on the television series Les Cinq Dernières Minutes. Her other successes include the songs “La Valse de Cambronne” and “Les Femmes à lunettes”. In 1961, she represented Monaco at the Eurovision Song Contest with the song “Allons, allons les enfants”. Her notable recordings include “À la gare Saint-Lazare” and “On se reverra”, which won the Grand Prix du Disque de l'Académie Charles-Cros in 1962. She performed at venues such as Bobino and the Olympia. Deréal died on April 12, 1988, in Monaco.
