Old School Freight Train were an American bluegrass and Americana band from Charlottesville, Virginia, formed in 2000. The ensemble consisted of vocalist Jesse Harper, Pete Frostic, Nate Leath, Darrell Muller, and Nick Falk. They achieved professional recognition for a musical style blending jazz, Latin, and Celtic influences. Their recording career began with the eponymous debut studio recording Old School Freight Train (2002). They released the studio recording Run (2005) through the label Acoustic Disc, which was produced by David Grisman. They supported Grisman on tours between 2005 and 2006 and performed as the opening act for Merle Haggard in 2006. Their discography includes the studio recording Six Years (2009). The ensemble disbanded in 2009.
