Matt Fishel is a British singer, songwriter, and record label owner. Fishel grew up in Nottingham and played guitar, piano, bass, and keyboards. He studied at the Liverpool Institute for Performing Arts before relocating to London. In 2010, he established his own record label, Young Lust Records, and released his debut single, "Football Song", which received praise from Stephen Fry and won the Best Video So Far award at the 2012 RightOutTV Music & Video Awards. Fishel followed with the singles "The First Time" in 2011 and "Behind Closed Doors" in 2012, with the latter winning Song of the Year at the 2012 awards. His debut studio album, Not Thinking Straight, appeared in 2013 and featured the singles "Radio-Friendly Pop Song" and "When Boy Meets Boy". The latter release won the 2013 award for Best Pop/Rock Video. He released the EP Cover Boy in 2014, which featured a cover of "Finally" that won the 2014 award for Best Lyric Video. He issued his second studio album, M/F, in 2018, and followed with his fourth studio album, Tales of Queer Suburbia, in 2025.
