Vitamin X, a Dutch hardcore punk band from Amsterdam, was founded in 1997 and consisted of Marko Korac, Alex Koutsman, Danny, and Marc Emmerik. The band's name was derived from the slang term for MDMA. Vitamin X was known for their DIY ethos and adherence to the Straight-Edge movement. The group released their first EP, Straight Edge Crew, in 1998. Their debut album, See Thru Their Lies, followed in 2000. Throughout the early 2000s, the band saw several lineup changes and released multiple albums including Down the Drain (2002) and Bad Trip (2004). In 2008, they collaborated with Steve Albini on their album Full Scale Assault, which featured contributions from John Brannon of Negative Approach.
