Tadataka Unno, born on August 15, 1980 in Tokyo, is a Japanese jazz pianist who began playing at age nine. He attended the Tokyo University of the Arts and started his career with Yoshio Suzuki's trio. In 2008, he moved to New York City and was recommended for the Jazz Rising Stars Program of Ravinia Festival in 2010. Unno has collaborated with notable musicians such as Roy Hargrove, Jimmy Cobb, Clifton Anderson, and John Pizzarelli. His discography includes six albums as a leader/co-leader, notably Get My Mojo Back (2022). In September 2020, he was attacked in a hate crime incident in Harlem, New York City, which resulted in permanent injuries.
